Mindseye is an action game being developed by Build a Rocket Boy. I don’t like being negative but with its release date of June 10th looming, some red flags are starting to show.

• Little to no marketing – Shows lack of confidence in the product
• Only very curated cut scene segments shown – No real gameplay again shows a lack of confidence
• Leaked gameplay – could hint at unsettled staff leaking footage
• Review embargo right up until the release date. Often a sign that reviews may be negative or the publisher is limiting early impressions.

Buyer beware. 🚩🚩

First off let me just say the gameplay that got leaked doesn’t look terrible, but we have seen very little gameplay footage actually released from the company. Couple that with a review embargo that lifts on release date and things start to look shady.

I’m not saying this game will be bad, in fact it could still be great and I’m really hoping it is great. But take precautions where necessary, £50 is still a lot of money to blow if the game is broken on release. Hold off on day one, wait to see some proper gameplay footage and first impressions. Then make a more informed decision.

It’s not going to harm the developers if you purchase late in week 1 instead of on day one.
