With the official PS Plus October 2023 announcement looming for tomorrow, September 27th 2023, I thought I would cover some of the rumours for the free games that PS+ members will receive in October of 2023.

It is of course going to be:

• A game I bought recently
• A game I’ve owned for years
• A random live service game that will be dead next year

End of article.

I’m kidding. (I can’t take credit for that joke, that goes to a Reddit user in the prediction thread.)

Let’s actually get to it.

Little Nightmares II

The first Little Nightmares game came to PS Plus in August of last year so of course it would make sense leading into Halloween of 2023 that we would receive the sequel.

Whilst it isn’t particularly the scariest horror game we could receive (we’ll discuss another later) the puzzle-platform adventure is part of a series with quite the acclaim.

On top of this, we’re looking at 2024 for the third instalment in the series which leads me to believe they’re going to try to push the series onto newer audiences and this could be the perfect time for it.

However, another horror game might just edge this off the list…

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Remember when I said we’d discuss later?

It wasn’t too far away.

As is tradition with horror games, the team played this together as a group not long after release in a dark room with a few drinks and snacks, I say WE played this but it was mostly David with a few comments from myself and Connor.

My favourite of the Resi remakes so far, this game fuckin’ delivered. This version of Mr X was the addition that we didn’t know we needed and had us on edge walking through every corridor.

Rumours also include the Resident Evil 3 Remake as well as Resident Evil 8: Village but I’m pretty sure when it comes down to it that Playstation will give us the eldest of the series.

This next rumour for PS Plus October 2023 isn’t one that I expected and I can’t say that I’ve ever came across it.

Kao The Kangaroo

So uh, this is a game and an IP I now know of.

And it’s exactly the sort of game I’d buy for my Nintendo Switch.

Anybody that knows me knows I’m an absolute sucker for 3D Platformer Collectathon Extravaganzas.

Give me A Hat in Time, give me Banjo Kazooie, give me Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy & Odyssey.

I don’t know how to feel about playing it on my PS5 though.

I mean, it’ll be a welcome addition to my collection but I just can’t see myself putting a lot of time into it.

If it does arrive to PS+ in the next month I’ll for sure be giving it a go and leaving you with a review as it’s the only game of the 3 mentioned that I haven’t already played.

End Thoughts on PS Plus October 2023

In total honesty, if we were to receive these 3 games I’d be more than satisfied, but we all know how this works.

We’ll likely receive one of these, an old stream of a PS3 game and an unknown PS4 game, but one can hope Sony will bless us with all 3, let’s pray!
